Binyamin Netanyahu’s Bar Ilan University speech (June 14, 2009)

(Full speech below) On June 14, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu made an uncompromising foreign policy speech at Bar Ilan University near Tel Aviv, Israel. It was his first major foreign policy speech, one which had to address Obama’s insistence on stopping illegal settlement building in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Netanyahu blamed the failure of the peace process on the Arabs, saying that the Arab’s unwillingness to accept the nation state of the Jewish people was the problem. He did not mention the ethnic cleansing involved in the creation of Israel. He said the only way to break the stalemate was for Palestinian leaders to make a simple statement acknowledging Israel’s status. No Palestinian refugees will be allowed to return to the Israel’s territory and Jerusalem will remain the “undivided” capital of Israel – two major sticking points in the peace process.

As expected, he also stated that any new Palestinian state must be demilitarized. (What kind of a state will it be?) Netanyahu snubbed the Obama administration by reaffirming West Bank settlers’ right to so-called “natural growth” of settlements. Netanyahu did not mention Gaza’s present dire need for humanitarian assistance after Israel’s attack and did not suggest an end to the two-year siege of Gaza.

Idiot !
You conveniently forgot to mention the ethnic cleansing of about 850,000 Jews from Arab lands.
And what kind of state would a demilitarized one be for the Palestinians? Well, maybe they could focus on other ‘things’ besides killing, such as working and building an infrastructure so that they could avoid humanitarian crisis’s as a result of their own aggression.
By the way you idiot, Israel left Gaze in 2005 so they could make their own way in the world ! Instead they destroyed a viable income source (greenhouses) clearing the way for more terrorism i.e. over a 10000 rocket attacks into Sderot Ashkelon and Ashdod.
Learn your facts before posting.

Thanks Barbara

Shame Avigdor Lieberman – have you “learned your facts” on him him? – openly advocates the complete separation of Jewish and Arab populations.

You also mention the plight of Jewish people ousted from Arab lands. Should they be given the right to return?
